These tools work with lots of other popular streaming services, as well. Instead, you can use one of several third party services to make the transfer for you. But for dedicated music listeners, that might involve a lot of work. You can just reproduce your playlists and library by hand, of course. (Consumer Reports supports measures to compel companies to provide such "data portability.") Neither do most other music streaming services, free or paid. Unfortunately, Spotify doesn’t provide tools for moving your Spotify playlists and music library to another app. The statement, signed by CEO Daniel Ek, also says “it is important to me that we don’t take on the position of being content censor.”
In response to the controversy, Spotify announced it would “add a content advisory to any podcast episode that includes a discussion about COVID-19,” but declined to remove any episodes.
